Cellarcoin is a cellar before it is anything else. Every bottle listed here is already lying in a bonded, climate-controlled chamber under its own lot number — insured, catalogued and yours to call for whenever you want it. The title you hold is simply the shortest way to prove that.

Lots and houses come from the live catalogue; the temperature is the range measured across every lot in the chamber. Each lot carries its own record — lot number, temperature, humidity and date of entry — and each is bonded and insured. Nothing on this page is an estimate or a projection.

How the wine is kept

Three moments, and nothing between them you cannot check for yourself.

  1. 01Intake

    The bottle arrives and is given a number.

    It arrives from the estate or from a bonded warehouse, never from the open market. Fill level, label, capsule and provenance are checked on entry, and it goes into the register under a lot number that stays with it for life.

  2. 02Custody

    It rests in the dark, at a temperature we can show you.

    Bonded storage between 12 and 14 °C at stable humidity, insured at replacement value. The chamber is instrumented: the reading against your lot is the reading from the sensor, not a promise on a page.

  3. 03Release

    You ask for it, and it leaves the cellar.

    Redeem the title whenever you want the wine and the bottle travels to you in climate-controlled transit; any duties or taxes due on release are shown before you confirm. The title is then marked as redeemed, with its date, so a lot can only ever be claimed once.

The wine is the asset; the title is the paperwork.

Yes. Every lot is insured at replacement value for as long as it stays in custody, and remains covered in transit when you call it in.

Redeem the title whenever you want it. The bottle is taken out of custody and shipped to you in climate-controlled transit; any duties or taxes due on release are shown before you confirm. There is no minimum holding period — a lot bought this morning can be called for this afternoon.

It is marked as redeemed, with the date the bottle left, and it stops being offered for sale here. We do not destroy it: the record of the lot — where it came from, how it was kept, when it left — is the part worth keeping. A lot can only be claimed once and the mark is permanent, so anyone can check whether a title's bottle is still in custody before it changes hands.

Yes. Titles can be transferred or listed on the marketplace at any time while the bottle stays where it is, which is what lets a case change owner without anyone shipping it twice. The price is whatever a buyer will pay: we do not quote, forecast or guarantee a valuation.

It is the right question to ask of anyone holding your property. Bottles sit in a bonded warehouse, each tied to its lot number and its holder in the custody register, so identifying whose bottle is whose does not depend on our say-so. If you want to read the custody and insurance documentation before you buy, ask us for it.

You need an account, and above certain amounts, identity verification. We run KYC checks and apply anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorism-financing policies, as any business moving goods of this value must. Some jurisdictions restrict alcohol shipments; where that affects you, we say so before you buy rather than after.
